looking for dress under 1000

can anyone recommend any sites to check out?

Re: looking for dress under 1000

  • There are many dresses under $1000.  Don't go by what you see on TV.  David's Bridal has tons.  My dress is by Mori Lee, Blu line, not sre if that makes any difference, and it was only 600.

  • David's Bridal, Maggie Sottero, Alfred Angelo... there are a lot more out there than you'd think. There is NO reason to spend more than a grand, and you'll still be spoiled for choice!
  • Allure has a lot of beautiful gowns under $1000.

Also - try looking at preownedweddingdresses.com - lots of new and used at discounts.

Sample sales are a great way to get a designer dress for much less! Good luck

  • I bought a sample that was in really good shape and got 40% off putting it at 600 instead of 1000.  It was an Allure with a lot of beautiful beading.

Personally, high expense on once-in-life dress makes no sense. I only spend less 20% of $1000 on my dress in the site trustedeal.com. I still got a pretty and quality dress.

  • I agree with everyone--there are tons of designers with  styles under $1000. Mori Lee, David's Bridal, Alfred Angelo, Allure, Maggie Sottero, Sottero and Midgley, Casablanca, Bonny, Venus, J. Crew, Impression, and many more. Don't get fooled by watching Say Yes to the Dress! Probably a good 70% of the ladies here paid less than $1000 for a dress.
  • I fell in love with my dress as soon as I saw it. It is Maggie Sottero. I was checking the website one day and saw this dress. I had no idea how much it cost at the time. I tried calling the bridal salons in the my area but no one had the sample. So I took the risk and I had one of the salons order it for me in my size. The dress came in, and I love it!!!! and the best part is that it is already my size, it fits perfectly. I just have to hem the bottom. The dress came to $760. I'm also in NYlike you so it is definitely possible to find a dress under $1000. Here is a picture

If you go to DB and check out the sheer variety of gowns they sell for under $400 it's really incredible.  I'm sure AA is comparable and the others mentioned will still give you a huge variety at their lowest price point.

I can't take Say Yes To The Dress seriously.  I just can't fathom spending as much as some of these girls spend.

  • Oh, and my bosses daughter just got married on the beach in FL this past weekend. She ordered her dress online from J. Crew's bridal selection. Her dress was gorgeous!!! and only cost $400. I was very very very surprised at how beautiful the dress was, i wasn't expecting that from J.Crew.
  • I really thought when I first started dress shopping that a decently made dress cost at least $3000 because of Say Yes to the Dress. I was so relieved to find out that that's not the case at all and I live in an area where there's very little selection. You have a ton of choices, start hitting up local bridal shops and see what you like I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

  • Try Wtoo as well.  Mine was only $600.

  • There are many gowns in that price range.  You will not find Maggie's discounted, but Allure, Casablanca, Private Label, Mori Lee and so many others you will.  Check out Pearlsplace.com and Netbride.com and see.  Also, yes Watters and Watters has some.
  • I tried on dresses for the first time this weekend and was pleasantly surprised at the prices. Out of my 3 favorites(of 20 I tried on!), the most expensive was just $1100. Most of the ones I found were $700-800. Try WTOO, Casablanca, Jasmine...those are the 3 brands I've liked so far.
