Necklace on it's own?

My bridesmaid are wearing dresses that are different styles but are the same color and length. I wanted to buy them necklaces that would link them together since their dresses are different. Would it be alright if I buy them a necklace but not earrings? I found these necklaces that could be personalized with their first initial.

Re: Necklace on it's own?

  • If you bought me earrings, I would refuse them. I do not have pierced ears and clip-ons are painful.

    Yes, it's alright.
  • If any of your girls are wearing one-shoulder dresses or dresses with high necklines, I would avoid necklaces.  Earrings just go better with all styles.

It's definitely ok to do necklaces if they'll work with every dress, though.
  • Personally, I'd have them all tie in with the bouquet and let them wear their own jewelery.  Most jewelery I received in a bridal party is worn that day and never again.  The money could be spent better elsewhere.
  • I think it depends on how well you know your bridesmaids and how much the necklaces are.  Do you think they would wear them again?  If not, are you ok with spending whatever amount of money you're planning on spending for them not to wear it again?  I personally would appreciate the token of thanks, whatever it ended up being, and even if it wasn't my taste - unless it was really, incredibly, and obviously oogly Smile
