Looking for Plus Size dresses...online vs. retail store???

I am a size 24 and would like to find a dress with sleeves but haven't had much luck in my local retailers.  I live in VA, on the southern outskirts of the DC metro area.  If anyone has any ideas for stores to check in DC, Baltimore, or Richmond, please let me know.  I really didn't have any luck at David's Bridal.

I have considered buying a dress online from plussize-wedding-dresses.com where they make the dress to your measurements but they are non-returnable or refundable.  Has anyone used this site or others like it?  Any advice?

Hi! I am also a plus size bride, and wanted a dress with sleeves, so I'm going with a dress from the Bonny Unforgettable Collection. She has some beautiful dresses with sleeves, and if you go to the website you can do a zip code search to see what stores in your area carry the Bonny Bridal Collections. The website is http://www.bonny.com/
I also learned that if the store doesn't have the dress you're interested in, you can pay a fee (usually around $50) and they'll order it so that you can try it on and see how you like it. Hope this helps!

I think there's an Alfred Angelo in Glen Allen in Richmond.  I've read they usually have lots of sizes in store to try on.

I am a plus size bride and most designers sites have a store locater for you to find a retailer near you I lucked out and ordered mine through a store just from an interent photo and I love it.

www.ariadress.com  has a few stores, none near me unfortunately, but I think they do have a store in D.C. 

Anyways they have a try on program which looks promising. I haven't tried it yet, but I did order some fabric swatches.

I recommend you to buy it on ebay with paypal, that way if it does not work for you you can always ask for a refund!
I've bought my dress from a ebay seller, it cost me less than $200 and I'm amazed!
If is not exactly the same than the photo, because they dont have the same embroidery pattern than the original brand
I'm a plus size too, size 18... and ordered this



With some modifications of course, Like adding removable straps amd making all in white (the original dress is ivory with a silverish sash)
And got this




I did order a bolero and ask for alterations, like adding long sleeves with matching embroideries
This was the phot I've sent them

And they did this bolero for me for about $40
