Sorry this is long. Read if you want. The short version is DB in my part of Texas sux. Felt like finally venting since people are always asking about DB. (FYI: This all happened before the the wedding date was changed. So I am not crazy and am not trying to get a dress 2 years in advance when all this happened.)
I have been to 3 different Davids Bridals in 2 different cities. I am not the happiest with them at the moment.
DB 1- Made an appointment in advance. Then I knew I was going to be all of 5 minutes late so I called to inform them of this. They said it was fine. I get to DB exactly 5 mins after the appointed time. No one is coming up to me to help me. I finally get someone to stop and give me some help. Basically they hand me paperwork to fill out. I fill it out and they tell me they are running a little behind b/c the computers are down. So I go to the bathroom and after sit down to wait. I wait and wait and wait. I waited for Over an Hour before someone finally decided to help me. It wasn't even the person who I had the appointment with that came to help. Then she took me to go find dresses to try on and made me carry quite a few of them as we looked at the racks and help her lug them to the fitting room. After she got my undergarments she informed me that she will also be helping another bride. I tell her this is ok I understand. This bride has her friend/ MOH or whoever with her and I have no one at all with me. These two ladies and up dominating the consultant. She is running around acting as if they are the Queen of England. I can't zip or lace up any of the dresses so I go out to look at them by holding them up with my hands. So after being ignored for close to 45 minutes I finally tell the consultant I am done. She won't let me go until she writes down the couple of dresses I liked.
DB 2- The next day I still want to try on dresses at DB because I feel I was gypped the day before. So I call up a different DB to see about making an appointment for that same day. They are open until 4 so they say I can just come over before then whenever I want. I get there and they give me the entire wedding gown shopping experience that most every girl dreams of. I find a dress I love and tell them I will be making an appointment at a later time so I can bring in my mom and everyone to look at dresses.
DB 3- So I make an appointment with a DB in my old home town (its really a city) so my MOH can see what I like so far and get her opinion. We get there 5 mins before the appointment and no one stops to help us. 10 mins later we flag someone down and they say to just look around while they go clean a room and let our consultant know we are here (she is still with her last bride). So we find several MOH dresses and can't get anyone to tell us what room we are in so they just give us a random room in the back. By the time MOH is done trying on dresses the consultant finds us and says we have a room someplace else and that she will get us the gowns. She is very helpful and quick but is preoccupied b/c she also has another bride to attend to. That is ok since she is quick to respond to our needs and my MOH is with me (I do not need her help lacing or zipping). Ok experience but not the best.
DB 2 (again)- My family/wedding party (moms and aunt included) end up making better time and will arrive early. So I call and let them know we will be about 30 min early. They say ok. So we get to DB and it is packed and we let them know we will be looking at BM dresses first and are able to help ourselves; all we need is a room. They say they will try to find one. While everyone are looking for dresses I notice there happen to be several empty rooms. No one has come to send us to a room yet so I ask and they grudgingly give us a room in a corner. They try on the dresses and at one point a manager or someone tells us that my sister is to skinny to fit into any of there dresses and that it would be impossible to alter. The BMs finish up and it is now time for the appointment.
So we wait around 30 minutes before we finally get a room (they said I couldn't try on dresses in that room and they would get me a new one). My cousin asked them about the room once and I asked twice. When they show us what room I will be in they let me know they do not have my information in the system (So I need to fill out all the info again and help them track down the dresses I liked). This is no good and i insist that they look again. We wait about another 15 minutes before they are finally able to find my info. Somehow it got placed in a different part of the filing system. They get me the dresses and say they have to go help other people with there dresses. So my cousin helps me try on dresses. Towards the end of the appointment they were giving us more attention then previously. The other bride they were helping I think left and they might have been trying to make a sale.
