Fabric for BM dresses?

Should it be the same? My BMs have very different body types so instead of picking a specific dress I'm giving them a color swatch prob horizon blue from David's bridal and letting them pick whatever dress they want as long as the color fits. Should the BMs all be wearing the same fabric? Will it look stupid if the fabrics don't match? I have no preference on what type of fabric their dresses are made out of, but if it won't look right to have dresses made of different fabrics they should probably coordinate on what they want.

Re: Fabric for BM dresses?

  • From what I understand, colors in lighter fabrics like chiffon photograph differently than the same color in heavier fabrics like satin.  If that doesn't bother you, then I think it's fine.

  • It wouldn't be the end of the world if the fabrics didn't match, but I think that they will have plenty of options even if they have to stick to a particular fabric and color.  I'd ask them to get the same type of fabric as well if it were me, since I don't think it's asking too much.

  • Personally I think that if you're going to match colour you should also match fabric.  So all satin or all chiffon.  They won't look the same otherwise.
  • That's a great idea .  I love this  . But as different fabric may have different shade , so you'd better ask them to choose the same fabric to make sure the dresses will be the same color :)

Thanks.  I'm don't really care about matching or them looking different, but I know my mom does, lol.  She was having a fit when I told her they could get different dresses but I had to explain with each girl having a different body type what looked good on one might not look good on another and by having them choose a style they like they can each feel comfortable and beautiful.  I probably will make sure they coordinate on fabric though.
