Chuck Converse For Entire Wedding Party

I was thinking of wearing teal (our color) converse and also having my Fiancee wear a pair and have them embroidered on the back saying "Bride" and "Groom".
Would it be over kill to have the bridesmaids and groomsman also wear teal converse? The Bridesmaids will be in teal length dresses, MOH will be in floor length, guys will be in tuxedos.
Any and all opinions would be awesome and are invited!!!!!!!

  • Well I love converse- and I don't agree that they need to be worn a lot to be comfortable--- but I do agree that for the BM's I wouldnt have them wear them. For the groomsmen- I would TOTALLY have them wear them. Maybe not in teal- but if they are wearing black, I'd probably have them in black converse. That is so fun!

  • I think it is overkill.  The idea has become way too trendy.  If anyone in your bridal party has big feet like me, they also look like clown shoes.  I like you and your FI wearing them, but I agree that the BMs will look dumpy.

Were you going to buy them for everyone?
  • my friend recently got married and had their girls wear yellow vans (I know it's not converse, but about same look), and the guys were white vans. I thought it was adorable! and totally worked with their personality (her husband is a pro surfer and owns a surf shop).

The BM dresses were white and navy blue and the guys also wore navy blue suits with white shirts. but the flowers were sunflowers (that is where the yellow tied in)

Even if you just had the guys wear the converse, that would be cute, if you didn't want to be too matchy matchy.

I wish i had a picture to show you, but if it works for you guys, I say do it! It's your day, do whatever you want!
  • If you really want to have them wear Converse, at least don't do it in teal.  I think that would be too matchy matchy.  Black converse will give the same effect, but won't be as weird.

I also agree that the BMs shouldn't be in Converse.  Cute flats would be a lot better if you think heels would be too formal.

  • I attended a wedding in 2002 when they did this exact thing.

I thought it was silly then - just my two cents.

  • How do your BMs feel about wearing those? Personally, I would wear them for my bride if she *really* wanted me to, but I wouldn't be happy about it. I understand that its yours and your FI's style but you shouldn't really force that on any of your BMs.
