I am almost 6 feet tall, and well, my FI...isn't. I found a pair of stunning 1940's inspired deep red heels for the wedding a few months ago and they are stunning. Because I am so tall, I don't usually wear heels, unless it's a special occasion. Since I don't wear them too often they usually make my feet hurt, but this pair of red ones is super comfy. I'm only about an inch taller than my FI without heels, and I'm worried that if I wear heels on the big day that I will look like a giant next to him up at the altar and in the pictures. My other thought is that I could wear a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers under my dress, which would not boost me up 3 1/2 inches and would ultimately prove to be more comfortable for the whole day. My dress is long enough to cover my feet so no one would see them except for the garter toss, and I don't think anyone would be surprised because I wear Converse sneakers all the time. Thing is, it is my wedding day, and I don't want to regret not wearing the right shoes. Is it trashy to wear sneakers under the fanciest dress I'll ever wear? What would you do?
**I suppose I could also get some nice flats or something too, so that could sort of be a middle ground between stunning heels and rubber soled sneakers.
