bridesmaid dress fitting and shoe heel height

I have my bridesmaid dress fitting today.  I am concerned because most fittings I've been to, they want you to bring the shoes you are wearing to the wedding and they hem the dress to the floor.  I was thinking of wearing a 2 1/2 inch heel, but bringing a 1 3/4 inch heel to my fitting so that I'll have a little leeway later on.  Will that look stupid?

oh, actually I was doing the opposite, bringing shorter sandals to the fitting and wearing higher heels to the actual event.  It is an outside ceremony, but after I'll change to higher heels so I can dance and my dress would come up about 1/2" to and 1 inch.

I did the same thing actually....only I did it with an alterior motive.

I am a shoe person. I loooove shoes. I was in a wedding, and I had these amazing shoes. So, for the fittings with my bride I wore shoes that were slighting shorter. The day of, my shoes stuck out a little bit so they could be shown off. Bride didn't even notice.

Anywho, go for it!
