Storage of dress until wedding

My dress just came in and I'm trying to figure out the best way to store it until the big day. I'm not getting married until September 2011 and I'm wondering if i should put it back in the plastic bag that it came in from the designer or is the garment bag protection enough?

I have mine hung in the basement with my dress fully hanging out of the bag and the train tucked inside the bag. The dress will yellow if you keep it inside the bag the whole time. Also keep away from sunlight if it is an off-white.

I have mine in a cloth bag that I bought from the bridal store. The sales person there said to keep away from light and heat.

I have mine wrapped in a white sheet, inside a nice plastic bag I bought from DB (not normal shopping bag plastic, im not sure what its called), and hanging in the bedroom closet.  It has been like that since Jan 10.  I have gotten it out every couple months (because I love trying it on) and it looks great, just like it did when I got it.

My dress has been hanging in the garment bag for almost three years and it has not yellowed.  It's in a closet away from moisture.  If your dress is heavy then I suggest laying it flat maybe underneath a bed (if you don't have any pets).

If you have straps of any sorts, do not hang it from a hangar.. it can stretch it out.

Keep it in a cool, dry place and yes, out of sunlight.  I bought a breathable white bag (off Ebay for maybe $20) and stored it in the closet for 10 months in that manner. I did, however, take it out every month or so to air it out completely though.

I'm storing mine at my aunt's house, hanging up, in the bag I got from DB, away from moisture and sunlight.

I am storing mine at the store where I bought it. They store free of charge until you pick up before your wedding in you bought from them. You might check into storage at the place you purchased from.

I am getting married in July 2011 and got my dress this past August.  I got my dress at David's Bridal, I bought their bag, they told me to keep it in there and it would be fine.  I just looked at my dress again, there is no yellowing and it looks wonderful, even better than I had remembered.  I did read though that you should not hang it the whole time, because it could put stress on the dress.  So I laid mine on a spare bed at my grandma's since her house is temperature controlled with central air.

I've heard that making a bag out of a sheet works great because it's still breathable and gets air that way.
