3 similar dresses...confused as which one to choose! Please HELP!

I'm wearing the Maggie and Vera. They both are the wrong size but I put them on so I could get an idea. Please not the Maggie should sit down further on my hip...it was too tight!

The Maggie costs: $1599
The Alfred Angelo costs: $899
The Vera costs:$1250

Do you think there is a huge difference as far as looks? I would add a corset and sweetheart to the Vera or add a sweetheart to the Alfred Angelo (already has corset). The maggie already has both.

I would love to save money and go with the one for $899, but I want to get the best looking one so I will spend the xtra!

I'm stuck at a stand still! I don't know which one would be the best option!

I think the second one is the most flattering on you....at least from the pictures you posted.Just an added bonus that it would be the lowest cost.I agree with PP re that deep neckline on the first one. If you do add the sweetheart to the AA, I would stay very subtle.

ETA: If you're still unsure, could you try on the ones that didn't fit in a larger size, rather than smaller? That's what I did with mine, (tried on a 20 instead of a 4 and I'm a 12) and it totally made the dress...had my moment and everything in the one that could be pinned back to show me how it would look when it fit, rather than looking at where I was bulging and uncomfortable in the small one.

[QUOTE]I honestly prefer the Alfred Angelo.  The neckline is less revealing, and that skirt is beautiful!   I don't like that deep plunge sweetheart neckline on the first dress.  You could maybe add a little sweetheart to the AA dress, but don't overdo it.  It is so pretty on you the way it is.

<div>I'm not a fan of the deep plunge either but I was thinking it would look better if it were the correct size.</div><div>
</div><div>I'm not wearing the AA it's a random pic (all of the stores only have a tiny sample size) so if I did want it, I would need to order without trying it on first.</div><div>

</div><div>The Maggie was 2 sizes too small but I squeezed into it. The Maggie skirt is bigger and a bit heavier than the others. The AA was a 4 and there was no way I was getting my hips, booty, or bust into that thing! Lol! Seems like the stores all around only got small samples. The Vera is a size 20 so she was able to clip the back so I could get an idea.</div><div>
</div><div>I would love to believe the AA will fit like the Vera since I can't try it on and looks similar. I'm nervous about ordering blindly though!</div><div>

  • I like the AA best. I also think that particular vera is overdone. When I went to DB, there were at least 6 brides buying that dress. I know that's not the same in all regions, but it really turned me off from that gown. And I just don't think its all that flattering on more curvy brides.
  • They are all so similar that if you are concerned about price I would go with the cheaper one with your modifications. I like the AA best anyway, actually.

The Alfred Angelo, but not because of the price: I think it's the prettiest.

  • Can you call around and find the AA in a larger size to try on?  I prefer that one too!

Even though I'm not in the AA dress? It's just a pic of the dress on someone else.
  • I don't like the last one at all. It's not that flattering on you.  I like the Maggie a lot and wish I could compare it with the AA on you. I really love the back of the Maggie.

  • I don't like the Vera belt.  I also am not a huge fan of the Maggie skirt.  I like the AA the best because I like the skirt best and I love the neckline.  Can you see if they could get you a larger sample?  Or find out if another store carries a larger AA sample of that dress?

Uh! I've called all the AA stores and they all only have 1 sample size that's way to small! I think it's between Maggie and AA but I'm not sure about taking the risk for the AA. My bridesmaids keep telling me to just order the AA!

The back of the Maggie is my fav even though it's a bit heavier. It seems like I can't try on the AA at all. I've called all of the stores and they all have the same tiny sample size.

Called all stores and they all have the same size sample. Super frustrating! Lol!
  • Are you close to any of the AA stores rather than bridal shops that carry AA? I bought my dress from the one in NJ and they had multiple samples of every dress and most of them were large (I ended up ordering an 18 and most samples was big on me). Having tried on the Vera and AA myself I preferred the AA. I do like the Maggie skirt the most though.

  • The Maggie and Vera are my favorite. I think I like the Maggie better but it doesn't have any bling so if you want that, you can always add a belt of some kind. It's so pretty though, it's not really needed! =)
  • I like the AA one, even though you're not the one wearing it. I like the skirt and the bodice better than the other two. does AA have a dress in a similar silhoutte you could try on in a larger size? That way you could get a feel for how their constructon feels and fits you.

Are you really interested in the poof in the back on all of them? I am not sure that much layering/poof  is the most flattering as it over accentuates people's backsides (unless you like that which some people do). Personaly, I went for dresses to hide my booty...I kinda think these dresses accentuate it...which is fine, if you like that...but not sure if you are going for that or not

p.s. In all honesty, I would be careful about taking advice here on the AA since you aren't wearing it so it truly IS hard to judge which one is the best one for you when looking at the pics. I totally would have picked that one for you, too but now I am not sure since you aren't actually wearing it int he picture
  • Man do you like beautiful! Only since you asked not that it matters, the AA is timeless & a great combination of the best of the vera and maggie. If you love the belt then you can add one on to the AA for pretty inexpensive. Corsets are great because with pre-wedding nerves you may lose weight or even gain with nervous eating- you can ensure the corset gives you that room. Either way practice with the person who will be lacing you up- you don't want it too tight with your back looking smushed or too loose that it looks ill fighted.

<div>Yes, that is my next plan! I'm going on Sun. and they will put me in the same bodice and just hold the skirt up to me so I can get a feel for what the bodice looks like with the skirt. I hope this makes the decision easier! </div>

Yes! because the dress doesn't chop your body up as much with a belt. it will give you a smoother look and make ur curviness look amazing. plus with bustier women depending on your comfort level sweethearts are very revealing and im a more conservative person. but remember it really is what you like best.

I actually completely agree with this. I genuinely like the AA best (even though it's not you), although I can also see the appeal of the Maggie.  I think the Vera is the least flattering.  It's so tough to make a decision when you can't really tell how something will fit.  GL!

The second one is the most flattering & you can't beat that price! That's a really good deal for a wedding dress. I bought my dress at AA. Their customer service is great!

  • I like the AA one. Nice lines, priced great so you can make it yours with extras
