Mantilla Veil with this dress? Dress photo attached!

Okay, so here's the deal. I am wanting to use the lace off of my mom's wedding dress to make myself a veil... the lace is a long, thin piece with a scalloped edge, so it would make a gorgeous mantilla veil. It would look almost exactly like the one below if I made it.



My problem is that my dress has a beautifully decorated bodice, and I don't want to distract from it or have the two designs clash. My dress is pictured below. Do you think that a mantilla veil will look alright with my dress or should I just go with a plain old veil?

I really love the idea of being able to incorporate my mommy's wedding dress in such a noticeable way.
