FI wedding band

FI wants a plain black, flat style, titanium or tungsten carbide ring. I found this site and was wondering if anyone ever ordered from here, or if anyone has experience with either of these types of rings. I know they are kind of popular right now, and I've seen them priced from $35 to $500, but I'm not sire if there are any drawbacks to him wearing one of them. I know it can't be sized and he would have to order a new one if his size changed, but for this price I think I might order one in his size and one in each size up and down from his.

Re: FI wedding band

  • Did you receive yet? I was looking at that site but they are so much more expensive. I wonder about the quality of this type of ring over all.
  • We got my husband's band from tungstenworld.com.  They have a lifetime sizing guarantee, so you can order a new ring for free, whether it's because you ordered the wrong size or because his finger changes (even years later), as many times as you want.  You can also order a ring sizer from them, it's a plastic thing that they mail to you for free.  The quality of all of the tungsten rings I've seen has been very good.  They had some black options at TW as well.

I would recommend going to a store and having your FI try on similar rings, just to see how they look.  Initially my husband thought he wanted a black ring, but it really looked awful with his coloring.  It's also a good idea to try different widths and find out what looks good, because it's hard to just imagine it.

  • Our jewler we are using said that if fiance has to buy a new ring due to sizing it would only cost $45 since the tungstun or w/e is unadjustable. We would not have to pay the 250 or w/e

  • Tungsten with a black carbon fiber inlay is a popular design.  You can also get styles with black rubber accents or black diamonds.  Even black ceramic.  There are tons of options! Tungsten is scratch resistant and very durable - always looks new! :)
