Satin vs. Cotton Sateen

I'm planning on letting each bridesmaid choose whatever dress style they want, as long as they are the same color and fabric, so that they don't come across too different in the photos. I guess my biggest question is, How different are satin and cotton sateen? Will they look different in pictures or are they close enough that my girls can choose either fabric?

I am running into the same problem! I have two cousins who will need to cover their shoulders, and my other brides maids can pick what they want. The only bolero jacket they have is in satin, but I like the look of cotton sateen better...good advice with the swatches suggestion!! I am going to try that!
