Ivory Wedding Dress & Silver/Dark Grey/Charcoal Bridesmaids?

I've always wanted to have my wedding be black and white with obviously a pop of color (purple) splashed into flowers/centerpieces/small details, but my FI is not into it.  He says black would be like a funeral - - ugh, sometimes I wish he wasn't so involved.

So, now I'm thinking if I can get a dark silver (almost black) fabric for the BM dresses, that'd be a compromise.  Problem being, my dress will most likely be ivory, not a crisp white due to skin tone/coloring/flattery. 

QUESTION:  Will the warmth of my ivory dress color confilct with the icy coolness of a dark, metallic maybe gray/black?

Most ivory wedding gowns I've seen aren't THAT ivory.  Unless your dress were closer to yellow, I wouldn't see it being a problem.  Hell, even if it were, it probably wouln't be a problem, since yellow and grey is one of the hot color combos this season.

Once you've actually chosen a dress, then you can always get swatches of the bridesmaid dresses you're considering and compare them.  I really doubt you'll have a problem.

I think it will be fine. Our wedding colors are black, white, and lime. My dress is ivory and the BM are wearing black. PIB.

P.S. I kind of like purple and grey better than I like purple and black.
