I have pretty small fingers- right now I have a ring size of about 5.5. The ring is a little loose, spins around a bit and in the winter time gets pretty loose. The jeweler recommended going down a 1/4 of a size. But when he orders the new ring he is going to order it as a 5 and size it up to a 5 1/4..instead of buying a 5 1/2 and sizing down.
I am worried about gaining weight in 10-15 years and then not being able to size the ring appropiately. Because if I originally had a 5.0 size ring, the most it's going to be able to be sized is 2 sizes without destroying the integrity of the ring- so the most it could be would be a 7.0. But if I got the 5.5 and had them size it down to a 5 /14, that would mean the ring would originally be a size 5.5 and I would be able to size up to a 7.5.
Can anyone provide some insight?
