Dressing the groom.

My dress is white with a blue sash.  Is it silly to ask the groom to wear a white vest and blue bow tie with his tux?  I want him to have a touch of the blue without going all out on the blue accessories.  Thoughts??

You can request it, but he gets to choose what he wears (within reason, of course).

I don't know that your combo will look good.  Let him try things on and decide.  Won't you have blue in the flowers?

No he won't have blue with the flowers all of the flowers are burgundy which is the other accent color.  I want to work the blue in somewhere so he will have the blue even after he takes his jacket off.  He doesn't care what he wears; he has no idea and I don't know anything about men's clothes.

The groomsmen are wearing blue vests/ties and I don't want him to have that much blue, just a little something somewhere.

My groom insisted on having the accent color with his tux, I would have preferred not, but it was his wedding too, so he got to dress himself (to some extent).

let him wear a blue tie. As for the vest, i'd get rid of it (too prom like) and either go black vest or blue cummerbund - its less bulky and he'll stand out
