When to buy?

I am looking at some darling flower girl dresses, and I am wondering how early I should buy them. I know kids grow like weeds, so I want to stay safe when it comes to size... What was the earliest you bought your flower girl dress? Or are there dresses out there that are adjustable? Just need a hint on what would work! Thank you!

Re: When to buy?

  • This really REALLY depends on where you plan to buy them. If you plan to buy your dresses from a regular big box store you can get those a few weeks before the wedding. However, if you're wanting to order them in from a flower girl specialty store, you will want to order them about 3-5 months before the wedding. Make sure when you're shopping you ask the shop owner when you should order to avoid rush fees

  • I bought our girl's dresses on Zulily about 2 months before, so I just went with their true size. If you are buying them from a boutique I would definitely have a conversation with them about the latest time possible to purchase, and their policy on refunds or exchanges in the event that it doesn't work out.
  • I bought ours from Macy's about 2 months before.
  • Depends on where you want to shop. I had to order mine in September for my March wedding because I wanted a specific one.  If you are going to shop off the rack then you can wait longer.
