Alfred Angelo Bridesmaid sizing

I just called the bridal shop where I ordered my sister's Maid of Honor gown. The woman said it was a size 2. My sister normally wears a dress size 4. I was a little put off that the size was smaller than her normal dress size, since most of the dresses in bridal shops are largerdue to their number system being different. The wedding is 3 months away, and her dress is supposed to come in about a month before...

Anyone familiar with Alfred Angelo sizing? I'm thinking my sister should call and confirm her measurements...

I agree, let your sister call and confirm they have the right measurements, before they order. I'd much rather it be a little big rather than too small if I were you.

My BMs and I got our dresses from AA. I believe the BMs dresses ran roughly true to their street sizes. AA dresses might have been a size bigger. I know for my gown I ordered an 8 but I am a street size 6, and the 8 is a bit tight. I would definitely have your sister call and confirm her measurements before the dress is ordered.

That seems weird to me.  When I went with my MoH, they fit her into a size larger than she normally wears.  Most of her clothes are a size 4, but she needed a 6 at AA.  The cut of the dress could be to blame, but I would still have her call to check.

Ditto PPs, 2 of my girls ended up in AA and they both ordered a size up from their street size.

I wore a very similar AA dress in a friend's wedding last spring, and I also ordered a size up.

The bridal shop got very pushy with my sister on the phone and was angry she called on a Saturday questioning her size and insist they know what they're doing. The measurements sounded about right...but we shall see...

Double check my sister wears a 0 and needed a 4 AA BM dress.

My MOH usually wears a size 4 and they measured her and told her she was a 0 in the AA bridesmaid dress. She told them there's no way she can wear a 0 and went with a 2 and it fits her perfectly. Two of my other bridesmaids went up a size, and the 4th bridesmaid was the same as her street size. So it really sounds like it depends on the person and the cut of the dress.
