Rustic wedding dress help

I'm having trouble deciding on what kind of dress I want. I would love for it to go with my theme (rustic/country), but I don't really know what kind of dress that would be. Is there a certain type of material or style that would go with a rustic theme?

  • I picture a classy lace gown when I think of a rustic wedding, but really you can choose whatever you want.

  • I would worry more about what fits you than what fits theme. Most good bridal consultants will ask where and when you are getting married to get a feel for what might fit.

But, you never know what gown you find looks great on you and sometimes in the end thats all that matters. Good Luck.

  • I know I can chose whatever I want and ultimately will. But I want to chose a dress that suits both me and my theme. Thanks.

  • Um, honestly any dress will go with that theme.  The only I can't see going with it would be a huge pouffy ballgown.  I'm having my reception (and ceremony if it rains) in a barn, and I'm wearing an ivory, strapless, mermaid, lace dress.

Thanks for your help. I don't agree with the  bolded. Maybe we just have a different definition of the term "rustic" :)

  • i'm having a rustic themed wedding and i'm wearing a strapless satin high-low dress.... (open in front to see from my knees down and long in the back) that way people will see my beautiful boots :)

  • I think of lace (as others have posted) and even tea-length. But I also agree that one of the biggest deciding factors is the fit of a dress. You might find a dress that on the rack, fits you expectations, but once you try it one, it may nt be flattering, or what you had picutred. Keep an open mind, and the cosultant is there to help you as well.

  • Our wedding is somewhat rustic and my dress is Allure C155. It's an allover lace gown that is semi trumpet fitted.  It's the look I wanted and turned out it's what's best on me.

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
