Wedding Dress Factory

Has anyone ever bought their wedding dress from a wedding dress factory that makes exact replica of designer dresses?  I found one on-line that makes the dress i'm looking for that is a tenth of the cost at a retail store.  I could get a full refund if I buy it and don't like it, but I'm wondering if it's smart to take the chance, or if anyone has had any advice, or a experiences with this.  Please help!

Re: Wedding Dress Factory

  • Can you post the website?

A lot of people have had bad experiences with this. Buying a replica online is risky. And for a tenth of the retail price, "You get what you pay for" would almost certainly come into play. There's a reason that it's a tenth of the retail price.

If you want a replica, I would bring the picture to a reputable local seamstress and ask for a quote. Changing to a less expensive fabric might make a difference. Or post a pic of the dress here, because a lot of designers (Forever Yours, David's Bridal, Alfred Angelo) make copycat styles.

MissySue, you might be talking about Pearl's Place. This is a genuine bridal shop, but they sell authentic designer gowns for lower prices than many other salons do. Contact them at pearlsplace.com for a quote.

  • My Cousin got her wedding dress online here: http://www.colettejeanbridal.com/wedding_dresses_-_pg_1.  It was really beautiful.  We even decided to get our bridesmaid dresses from the same site.  I have heard horror stories about other sites, but I we had a great experience with this one.

    Good Luck!
