Modern, Yet Classy...and not Halloween-y

Hello -

I am trying to determine my overall color scheme for the wedding. We are describing our wedding as modern with classy and elegant touches.  But simple - nothing over the top.

I picked out a lovely BM dress by Bill Levkoff but am struggling with what to go with...thoughts on a wine colored dress with the guys wearing wine ties / vests? My dress is ivory.

Flowers will be mango & eggplant calla lillies for bride and tiger/hybrid lillies for bms.  Groomsmens will have chartreuse orchids as will reception tables.  Gold accents in things like jewelry or shoes.

I am by no means needing everything to be matchy matchy, I just want to make sure it doesn't look like a bag or Skittles or a monster mash as it is a couple days before Halloween -- just isn't our thing!

I also love the idea of a chocolate and maybe green tie in but not crazy about black tuxes with brown...and most people seem to get ill by the thought of brown tuxes and brown dresses.

Ahhhhh....help.

  • It sounds like you have it all figured out.  Regarding the color of GMs vest/ties, I personally don't like the idea of matching to the BM dresses, but it's always a safe bet.  Don't overthink the colors.  What you have described all sounds good, so I'm sure it will look great.
