to sauder or not to sauder

My wedding band & engagement aren't a "set" they are two rings that were found at different times that happen to look really good together or separately. So now I'm stuck with the choice, do I sauder them together after the wedding or leave them separate to give me the option to wear the band alone. Looking for pro & cons from people that have either saudered or not saudered their bands together. Thanks girls!!

Re: to sauder or not to sauder

  • I am keeping my separate.  I just like the option of being able to wear both or just the wedding band.

I don't really think there are pros and cons to this choice but just a personal preference.

  • From my understanding, soldering them together makes the stronger for everyday wear, but if the bands for both are wide enough, then I'm not sure you'd have an issue. I probably won't be soldering mine together because my wedding band is a family heirloom while my engagement ring is unique to me. So like PP, I think it's mostly personal preference.

I am keeping mine separate.  I know at times I will want to wear the wedding band by itself.  It really seems like it's a personal preference.

By the way, it's solder, not sauder.  :)
  • I'm soldering mine together.  I had to have my band custom made to fit against my engagement ring because of it's irregular shape, but when they aren't snug together and they shift, they look odd.
  • Don't solder them; keep your options open.  Just one woman's opinion ...
