Bridesmaid dress situation!

I asked my "little sister" from BBBS to be a bridesmaid in my wedding... she's really more of a jr. bridesmaid because she's only 12. BUT I have 2 "real" sisters and the younger one is her age and she was upset about not getting to wear the same dress as the older sister, so I just put her in the same dress since it's not inappropriate or anything. Well, now I can't very well put my BBBS sister in a jr. BM dress while another girl her age is in the BM dress.

BBBS sister doesn't have a lot of money so I am paying for her dress, and since she's 12 she can't drive. Well, it turns out the nearest David's Bridal is 2 freaking hours away. Frankly, I dont have five hours to drive her there, try on the dress, and bring her home. Would it be weird for me to have her go with her family to try on the dress and then just order it myself while I'm getting alterations done? Can I just give them the money for it? Is there any appropriate way to get out of driving all the way there?

And for the record, the wedding isn't happening near our house and I travel to the wedding location to get alterations done and leave my dress with a close family member. So I can't bring her with me when I get alterations done.

  • I dont see anything wrong with you giving them the money for the dress and have them go try it on

There's no difference between a junior bridesmaid and a bridesmaid. If she's walking down the aisle with some flowers, then she's a bridesmaid. The "junior" title means jack shiit nothing.

The reason they have "junior bridesmaid dresses" is so younger, less-developed girls have a more age-appropriate version of the adult bridesmaids' dress. Not because of their title. Some younger girls can wear an adult dress and still look appropriate in it.

Just do whatever's easiest and, more importantly, whatever looks best on each girl. Dropping the meaningless "junior" adjective from her title would probably help her feel more grown-up, too.
