STOP SENDING RELPIES TO MU EMAIL

I have received over 1500 emails from this message board since 5:30 pm on Friday June 10 and it won't stop sending them. This is crazy.

  • How about a fabulous pair of shoes that you would like to see peeking out from under your dress?  One inch short may not be that noticable, especially if you do it up with great shoes that make it look intentional.

I'm nearly 5'10", so I feel a tiny bit of your pain (just tall enough to make length an issue).  I didn't order extra length, so now I am on the hunt for cute 1" heels.

  • Does the length include the height or your heels or just your length? You could always wear flats or a shorter heel. Unless the dress is too short when you're barefoot. Then, I agree with gundy, 1in wouldn't be too noticeable. Just get really cute shoes!
  • Can you consider looking at other designers who will cut that length, holllow-to-hem?  If you're willing to pay extra for expediting charges, you should still be able to get your dress.  My designer had a 10% cost for expediting to 10 weeks...

Also, depending on the style of your dress, can you add a layer of satin trim, or lace, or something that will give you the extra inch?  Or even extend the hem fabric?  1 inch isn't really that much...

  • That's great you found a website that looks like it will work. HOWEVER, I have seen that specific website advertized in a very sneaky way on the knot boards several times (creating fake accounts to rave about dresses there from girls who are obviously just salespeople), which is kind of shady IMO. So be really careful.
  • I'm sorry about this--good luck!!  Have you considered looking at preowned dresses?  There may be some available from tall brides.  Have you looked at stores other than David's?  I know a lot of designers do extra length.  I'm 5'11 and my dress in the regular length (even with 3" heels) was exactly the right length, though they did offer extra length.

I'm glad you seem to have found another option and I hope it works out for you!  I see that on preownedweddingdresses.com, you can search by your height and there were 12 options for 6'3"+!
