wedding dress is too short!! *rant*

I had my first fitting in January, and everything seemed fine then. It looked like she had pinned the hem at the right places for it to be level to the ground. (Long enough so that my toes dont show, but short enough so i dont trip on it.

At my last fitting, in March, I saw the front hem was too short with my 4 inch heels. Meaning i could see the tops of my toes looking straight into the mirror, not looking down. So i didnt freak out, i bought new shoes that are 2 inches shorter hoping that would fix the problem.

I had another fitting yesterday. The moment i stepped into my dress i knew it was even shorter because it was level to the ground before i had put my shoes on!! Im 5'1 so therefore the seamstress must have cut off a TON of fabric. Then I put my new 2 inch heels on, and i could still see my toes! I know some people say its no big deal because no one looks at your feet. But it bugs the hell out of me because i dont like feet! And i feel like its a big issue, i mean its my wedding dress, im only getting married once and it should be perfect.

I dont know what to do about it, but i know that i am NOT happy with my dress and i dont feel like a beautiful bride anymore.

Did you talk to the seamstress about the length before?  When you went in for your first fitting did you have your 4" heels with you?

yes i had my 4 inch heels with me at the first fitting, and i told the seamstress where i wanted the hem to be. I said to her i did not want to see my toes.

i think she is an amatuer (sp?) the place i bought my dress from hires out seamstresses. I had no say who was to alter my dress, they just assigned me her. And this is the woman's part time second job. she does something else. Which i dont think is fair because its not just a prom dress its a wedding dress its very important and they should treat it as so.

Omg that's a nightmare! Could you maybe get your money back? Clearly something when awry...As a fix, could you just wear super amazing flats? That way your toes won't stick out at all! Or snazzy sandals, that's very in style.

That really blows, but there is a solution I promise!

That's awful, you have a right to be mad.  Have you looked at the hem? Is there a chance that she left enough fabric that you could let it out by a few inches? But I would definitely find another seamstress to do it!  Or, depending on the dress, maybe you could add a hem of a different material (e.g. lace hem, wide ribbon, or something like that).
