Groom/Groomsmen attire

I just recently totally changed my ceremony location and now don't know what to have the groom and the GM wear. Origianlly it was going to be on the beach in the sand so they were going to wear khakis, a button down, and a tie.

Now the ceremony is going to be on a yacht and all the pictures I've looked at people have on full suits. I don't know which route to go now. The wedding is a little more then three months away so I feel like its not a lot of time for them to get fitted and get a suit. Also, my mother put it into my head how I'll look so dressed up in my wedding gown, and my FI won't look like he really belongs with the whole khaki look. I don't know what to do for this!

What are you opinions? Keep the khaki, button down, tie look? Everyone get suits? Just FI get a suit and GM be in the original outfit? Not sure if it matters but my dress is pretty simple and straight no poofiness at all, and BMs are choosing their own dresses I just gave them color and length (knee length).

  • I think the khaki and button down idea would still work.  But suits would look good, too.
  • Maybe the khakis with a white shirt, tie, and a blue blazer?   That would look kind of nautical.

  • I second the khakis and navy blazer

I also vote for khakis with navy blazer, or a suit.  In my opinion, shirt and tie without a jacket looks unfinished, and there is no lapel to pin the boutinnere.
  • Do the men have their own suits already?  If all of them already own a navy or grey suit, that's what I'd go with.  Their suits don't have to match each others.

I agree that ties with dress shirts looks unfinished.  Even just a blazer and khakis would be better.
  • Oh I really like that idea of the blue blazer with khakis! You ladies are awsome.

I don't think any of them own a suit or blazer honestly because we are the first out of our group of friends to be getting married. I will ask though thats a great idea.
