Need your Help! I need to bounce ideas off SOMEONE......

Hello all!

I need some people to bounce my idea off of.  PLEASE, PLEASE, be honest!

I'm getting married in March in an outdoor wedding at a desert garden.  My colors are aqua, coral, and the bright pink.  This is my idea.

The bride and groom in white with his vest and tie the aqua color, and the ladies in the pink.  the groomsmen, I'm thinking, in a grey suit and vest with the pink tie...not solid, probably, but a nice tie with no jacket.  Is that too much????

Most people on this board hate the idea of the groom in all white unless it's a military uniform.

I would personally keep the guys all in the same suit. As it is, you already have three very overbearing colors. They will look lovely together, but having those three PLUS the groom in white while the guys are in grey seems a little much IMO.. But I'm not very good at visualizing so maybe  I'm not the person to comment..

Why are you wanting no jacket? If the groom is in a jacket, the GMs should be.
If the ladies are in pink, I think it smart to match any of the GM's accessories to that colors like you mentioned the pink tie and vest.

I love the color combo! Bright pink and coral are two of my colors as well (My other color is orange.)  I love the bridal party attire.. Because it is identical to what I have in mind. The only thing that I am not sold on is the groom's attire, but I am not a fan of white tuxes in general.

Our colors were pink and green.

BM dresses and GM vests and ties were green.  The corset string on my dress and DH's tie and vest were pink.  Flower were a mixture of colors.  Don't limit the bride and groom to all white.

[QUOTE]No. it is not enough. Grey suits look great on guys!  They consist of trousers and a jacket, sometimes worn with matching vests. Pastel colored vests are very high school prom IMHO.   Wearing a vest without a jacket is like being half dressed.   Of course, after the ceremony, at the reception, the guys can take off their jackets to be more comfortable. Grooms should be dressed in the same level of formality as the groomsmen.  If the groomsmen are wearing suits, then the groom should wear one, too.  He can wear a different colored tie and boutonierre.  A white suit?  Ugh!  He'll look like Elvis at Las Vegas.

I'd have all the guys wear grey suits (including the groom) with the grey pants and grey jacket.  I'd get a patterned tie with coral or pink as the primary colors for the groomsmen and a patterned tie in aqua for the groom.   I think patterns are key here. If you get solid colored ties it looks very prom. I'd skip the vests.

Agree with PPs.  No white suits/tuxes.  Groom and groomsmen all in grey suits, no vests, use ties and bouts for color.  It will look so much more put together with your dress and the BMs.

I totally agree with this post.

Patterned ties with these bright colors would be genius! And the guys should all be in grey suits -- though, I've seen pictures with groomsmen with cute bow-ties and suspenders without a jacket like this: <a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6227/6313110547_fb48000fdc.jpg" rel="nofollow">http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6227/6313110547_fb48000fdc.jpg</a>

Though, in my search I did find a picture of a groom in a suit with his groomsmen in vest/tie combo and it looked pretty cute: <a href="http://www-static.weddingbee.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/07/wright.jpg" rel="nofollow">http://www-static.weddingbee.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/07/wright.jpg</a>

Definitely a no-go on the white groom's tux, though. Bleh.

Thank you all so much for your help!

We won't be in pastels, so I'm not worried about it being too little.  They are the bright, summer shades.  And I think the general consensus is that those three shades work well together.  Here is a link to the color scheme...I think it would help....http://inspiringbrides.blogspot.com/2009/07/lovely-color-combo-aqua-coral-and-pink.html

I do like the idea of the vests, and have seen a lot of pics of pinterest with that idea, so I think I'm sticking with it.  All of the guys are over 6'3" tall, andare big guys, most over 200 lbs solid muscle, so I think it would be way too bulky with all of them in coats.  He has 6 brothers!  I also love your suggetion of the striped/patterened tie, which matched what I was originally thinking.  Here's the pic I love the most!!!  http://bridalmusings.com/2011/10/aqua-peaches-a-sweet-southern-wedding/

I do see what everyone is saying about the groom being in the ivory, matchig my dress.  So if I understand most everyone, having him switch to the grey-if I can talk him into it-would be a better idea.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR SUGGESTIONS!!! IT HELP A TON!!!!!!!
