MOB Dress - Does this work or too matchy-matchy?

Does this work as a MOB dress? Is it ok for the MOB dress to be almost the same color as my bridesmaids dresses? The color is a little darker but close. Here is my dress, my bridesmaids dress and the MOB dress. What do you think?

MOB Dress (Nordstrom) - We would shorten the dress to about the knee to match the BM dresses a bit more.

As far as the MOB dress....it doesn't have to match the BM dresses AT ALL, so I wouldn't shorten it because I think it would look weird with the jacket then. Your mom should pick out what she wants to wear regardless of what the BMs are wearing.

But as long as your mom is okay knowing that her dress is going to be very similar in color to the BMs dresses, go for it. I know my mom and MIL wanted to know what the BM dresses looked like/what color they were so they could get something that didn't totally clash and not accidentally buy something similar.

Beautiful colors, btw...purple is my favorite!

I think on it's own it's a beautiful MOB dress. I think it would look very strange if you shortened it, though. Personally, I think it's too matchy-matchy; I don't like the look of having parents match the wedding party. But, that said, you shouldn't tell your mom what to wear, so just make sure she knows what color/style the BM dresses are, and if she's cool with them matching, let her wear what she wants.

I personally think it's too matchy matchy. I may be tad too sensitive though as my mother has decided to wear a champagne coloured gown while I am in ivory. The important thing is if YOU don't mind and your mom and BMs dont mind, then do what you want.

I don't think it's too matchy-matchy but I agree with PPs that shortening the MOB dress with the jacket will look weird. I think it would make anyone look bigger than they are with the short length and the jacket.

Ehhh, I'm not a big fan of having the mom(s) in the same color as the bridal party. And I wouldn't shorten it either. Not only will it not look good with the jacket, but I also find that the longer gowns seem more MOB appropriate.

My bridesmaids wore the same color. Such a beautiful choice! I prefer the MOB in a different color, but it's a beautiful dress. I agree with not shortening it though.
