Groom's Tuxedo Vest Color - Match Bride's Dress?

FI and I selected all the tuxes this past weekend (yay for crossing another thing off the list!), but we're second guessing something on our decision. The rep at Jos A. Bank advised that the color of FI vest/tie should match my dress.   So he's basically suggesting a white shirt with their diamond white vest (which is a slightly off white - as my dress is not bright white).  We couldn't see this actually in person, but were told this is common. I knew FI tux would be different than the GM, but this seems a bit odd to us both.  Would FI with a platinum color be better and photograph better?

GM are in deep purple and FOB/Ushers in black.

</div><div>Your colors are exactly the same as mine..we have GM in an eggplant purple for vests/ties and fathers in black vests/ties.  Everyone is wearing black tuxes.  FI is going to be in a white dress shirt with an ivory vest and ivory tie (my dress is ivory).  I was a little apprehensive about this at first because I was set on having my groom stand out a little more (as in a completely different color tux or jacket) but they showed me what it would look like, and I actually think it looks great.  It's very classic and elegant and your groom will still stand out from your GM.  Can you go in to the tux place and have them put together the color combos as a sample to see what it would look like?  They did this for me at MW because I was not sure that I liked the idea....but after seeing it all together, it looks very nice!

He can wear any color he wants. DH wore pink to match my shoes and the corset string on my dress.

Def. can wear any color, my FI really did not want an ivory vest, since his shirt was already ivory because of my dress.  All of the GMs and him are wearing red vets, I figure they will know he's the groom whatever color his vest is lol!
