Do I keep the garter?

Trying to figure out if I should get a nice one or a cheapo one. If I end up keeping it, I want a nice one. If I toss it and whoever catches it keeps it, I'll just buy a cheap one. Not really sure what's normally done.

Is this perhaps the reason that most garters come in sets of 2? Keep the nice one, throw the uglier one?

If you want to keep one then get a set of two. If you don't really care about keeping one then just get a cheap one and toss it. It all depends on if you want to keep it or notl

I agree with PP, if you plan on throwing the garter and want to keep one, you buy to and generally you keep the nicer of the two of them.

I have most often seen them in sets. If you can't find a garter that you like in a set, buy one fancy garter to keep as an heirloom and purchase an inexpensive one (Dollar Tree) to use as your toss garter.
