Invitations

Hi everyone -

I have 2 questions:

1.) Should we include where we're registered on directions/event details card?

2.) My mom says it is proper etiquette hand write the addresses on the invitation labels, but I think clear labels are ok. Any advice?

Thanks!
Kelly

You should never include your registries on invitations. It is extremely poor etiquette and in bad taste.

It has become more acceptable to print on the envelope or on clear labels.

Thank you! My fiance thought we should include the registry info. but I told him that info. is typically included with the shower invites. Problem solved :)

I will also inform my mom about the labels on the envelopes. I used labels on my save the dates and think they came out fine.

    Thanks again!

We used clear labels on our invite envelopes.  They came out beautiful!  I am so glad I did that rather than handwriting them.  So I say use the labels!

I think that if you're creating a website with information for your guests, you could put registry info on there too as a tab or something, just not on the front page.
As for the labels, I do think they look nice.  I know that some of my friends just weren't comfortable hand-writing them and felt that they'd look nicer that way, or printed onto the envelope directly.  I think either is ok.   Good luck!

We included our website information, which has our registry info, with our invites. Also, it IS considered poor etiquette to send out invitations where the addresses are not handwritten. Your mom is right on that one.

We did not include registry info on invites.

My invitation company printed the address right onto our envelopes, but they did it in a nice burgundy ink on the gold envelope (colors of the invites) and it looked really nice.  Our return address was typed on the back and the RSVP postcard was typed too.

FI and I used clear lables for STD's but be careful for some reason the ink didn't dry right on ours and some smudged it was a huge PITA.

    GL!
