Cheaper Wedding Places in and around NYC

I'm just curious as to whether anyone known of good places to look at wedding gown in and around NYC, preferably within th eboroughs. I feel like most of the places are geated towards richer clientel, it is NYC after all...but I really would like to find something beautiful and unique without it wiping out my budget.

there are plenty of bridal places around, and even some of the larger stores can accomidate a smaller budget. even kleinfeld has dresses around the $1500 mark. if you want less than that, david's bridal is probably going to be your best bet. there are also some smaller local places in westchester that you can try (bronxville, etc) and long island of course (if you want to go there) but again they are geared more towards the higher end bride.

so really it's going to depend on what your budget is........andd also where you are. "the boroughs" is a pretty big place, and people in the city don't like to travel. i wouldn't expect someone from brooklyn to go to westchester, or someone from the bronx to go to long island. god forbid anyone from the city travels more than 10 minutes and outside their area.........

Would you be willing to look in New Jersey? If so, come and chat with us on the North Jersey board and ask for recommendations. I got my dress at a shop in Verona and it was certainly not a super-expensive place.

If you don't mind traveling north a bit, Bella Couture in Newburgh comes highly recommended (by me, and many others) and their prices weren't high.  It's worth the trip, if you're willing to make it.

I live in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I would consider travelling father lengths if I really thought the place would be a winner....but I have a feeling I will want to return a couple times. But maybe the perfect one really will speak to me and that's all I need. My budget is a bit negotiatiable but a lot of places I've seen have nothing under 5000 and that's a bit much.


I am not a David Bridal's fan.
