Designer inspired?

I am so sad... I am SO in love with this dress (below), but it is definitely out of my price range. My problem is that I can't even find it sample or used...I've tried recycledbride and oncewed and it's not there; I even tried ebay (only one custom, not a good one).I could always buy a similar dress and have it altered to add sleeves, but even then it could be out of my price range with the cost of alterations. I was wondering...have any of you had a dress custom made? If yes, who did you use? What were your results? Any horror stories? Any who were thrilled with the results?

It looks like you could buy a lace strapless with a similar neckline, then get a lace shrug and maybe modify the back of the shrug. 

If not, that silhouette is pretty big right now. You could probably get something very similar and then adding sleeves wouldn't be totally cost prohibitive.

If you are going to have one custom made, try a local seamstress and take the photos in with you and see if someone can give you quotes and references.  Don't buy any of the "custom" dresses from a chinese knockoff site who claim to make your dress, just for you.   It will be a waste of money and you will end up in tears.

You could also look for a budget friendly version of that dress.  Lots of designers make dresses similar to that.
