Groom wants to be more casual for his clothes???

Hello Brides!

My FI and I are pretty casual people. He is not interested in making his groomsmen or himself dress up (suits or tux's) for the wedding. We are doing a winery wedding and I dont want it Black Tie event but I don't have any ideas of how to keep the guys comfy yet look nice for the wedding.

Honest I think it would be tougher trying to be casual, than it would be just renting the tux from Men's wearhouse!

BTW: My girls will be wearing typical yellow davids bridal bridemaid dresses, and I will be doing a typical bridal gown but i have not found it yet.

My guys aren't going to the suits or tux's route. I'm doing an outdoor in a cove on a lake. They are going to do dress pants, dress shirts (possibly even rolled up at the sleeves) solid color tie and maybe even suspenders to dress/class it up a bit. I've been to a lot of outdoor weddings and the guys just are always so miserable in tuxes and suits.

You could do suits, either rented from a tux shop, or something the guys already own. You could also just do slacks with a shirt and tie, or with a shirt, vest and tie.

YOu could do suit jackets with no tie, just a button down shirt with the top button open?

Does anyone have pictures of those ideas???? I dont want the girls to look too dressy and the guys look like they stepped off the beach!

I just called Men's Wearhouse, and renting a tux seems sooooo easy!

Those are our gms! They were all spiffy with the sleeves down originally, but it was effing hot. The pics are awesome

What about something more like that? Lighter weight and khaki, so it isn't a "stuffy" suit. That might work if your girls' dresses are a bit more formal.

I would tell him to dress up and rent the tux. You and your BMs are going to be dressed up. I think he can force himself for one day.

I've seen some pics of wedding where all the men wore khakis and matching shirts in a solid color (not white),  Not the same color as the BM but something coordinating.  I thought they looked great with the bride in her traditional gown.  These were beach weddings.

Khakis and a navy blazer, white shirt, tie or not. A good pair of khakis and a blazer are pretty much MANDATORY for any man's wardrobe anyhow! Plus navy and yellow look great together.

if he wants to go more casual, i would stop looking at how easy it is to rent tuxes from Mens Warehouse.  like other said, its his wedding too - he should pick what he wears (and the groomsmen)
