Re: To veil or not to veil, that is the question.....

  • its more of a preference. im wearing one, because its the only day i can (and get away with it :) haha) the dress style can determine the length and any detail on the veil, like beading. however, i went to a wedding where the bride wore NOTHING in her hair, and it didnt seem to 'complete' the picture for me, but if that was her style thats cool (to be honest, NOTHING about her wedding was my style)

headbands and ribbon headpieces that have a jeweled accent you tie in a bow are becoming really popular now.

why dont you try on different veils and headpieces with your dress and see what you like and dont like? thats how you will know. also, what hairstyle you wanna do can determine what veil also
  • I think a single-tier veil with some crystals on it would look very pretty with this. Like pp said, the veil really completes the look.

  • I went to a wedding this summer of someone who wore that dress.  She wore a veil for the wedding and just a headband for the reception.  The veil was elbow length or so.  Her hair was down and curly.  It looked nice both ways.
  • Thank you ladies, My main concern is cost, I know thats silly but i can wrap my head around paying 300 dollars for an hour of usage. I was thinking my hair down and curly with maybe a flower in my hair? I guess I'm just wanting to know if its ok to not wear one?
  • Thank you very much for your advice, my moms new suggestion is to wear the "family" veil for sentimental value and go veil-less for the reception. I am definetly going to try a few on when the dress comes in and if I fall in love with one I will go for it :)
  • look on etsy.com--you can find VERY reasonable veils!
