Who has had the color "Spiced Wine" from J. Crew?

Hi ladies!  I would like for my maid of honor to wear a purple dress, and I found a beautiful dress from J. Crew.  The color "spiced wine" looks like the right purple color, but I'm worried that it doesn't look the same in person as it does on my computer screen -- I hear "wine" and I think of a dark red.  Has anyone worn or seen this color in person before who can tell me what it REALLY looks like?  Thanks!!

J. Crew sends out free swatches, you know. I got their vintage burgundy color, which is a dark red--the spiced wine looks much more purple.

I think the email address for swatch requests is ashley@jcrew.com, but double check the website.

They should also have swatches in the store if you want to go into your local store and take a look.

I have it. it's a purpley wine color.  More of a red tone than a blue tone.
