anyone else have second thoughts about your dress?

I am getting married next month and have been having second thoughts about my dress. I really love my original dress, but I keep getting bridal magazines and continue to see other dresses that I really like. I am torn between wearing my dress and going dress shopping again. Anyone else have this happen?

Yes...I'm guility of it as well..lol..You're not alone in this. A lot of brides buy their dress and then continue to look at other dresses and it changes your mind. My sister told me not to do this..but did I listen..no..lol..She was right..Once you buy your dress, don't look at any other wedding gowns. This will make your first choice less stronger...if you aren't happy with your dress, like it doesn't fit well or it's too heavy, then I would say go try another dress..but since your wedding is only a month away now, be confident that your first dress IS THE ONE..I'm sure you'll look great in it..Remember..stop looking at wedding dresses..I've had to tell myself this so many times..lol I hope this helps you.

another note: I've actually changed my dress from the first one I picked..When I wore the first dress again, it seemed so much heavier and it didn't feel like it was going to be a comfortable wedding day for me..so I immediately changed it to a slimmer A-line fitted dress and I couldn't have been happier..maybe that will help you..try on your dress again and ask yourself how it makes you feel...

  • Don't go shopping again. Stick with your dress.

It is totally normal for people to have buyer's remorse, especially with a wedding dress. Wedding dresses are pretty and for the most part, fun to try on. Chances are that yes, another dress will also look good on you, and so will a dozen more dresses. But, you picked the original dress for a reason, so put those magazines down!

  • I have...and I do have second thoughts.  I purchased my dress because my MOH started crying when she saw me.  It never gave me that feeling..but the dress was the prettiest I had seen (I'd only tried on a few) and was 40% off, so I crumbled and put down a deposit on it. I ended up paying the rest of it because it was easier than shopping and I was already to the point where I'd have to pay rush shipping.
Of course, now I wish I had the dress of my dreams and being less than 3 months out and $700 later, it's not in my budget to reconsider.  I will forever tell girls THEY need to love their dress, it doesnt matter what other people think.
  • I had second thoughts, but eventually got over them.

The best advice I can give you is to stop looking at other dresses. There are thousands of dresses out there. Sure, there are other great ones. But there are other great guys out there, and you're not second guessing your FI--you found the right one and stopped looking. So stop looking!
  • Thanks ladies! I really appreciate all of the advice and it is comforting to know that I am not alone lol. Budget wise, I will most likely stick with my first dress...I just want everything to be perfect. Maybe it's just last minute nerves setting in.
  • Ive done this too... I was kind of rushed into buying my dress and though I dont hate it, it is not the dress of my dreams. Focus on other parts of the wedding :)

  • Argh!  I totally feel your dress envy!  I chose my dress from a specific brand that sends me update emails now and then.  They just came out with their Fall 2010 season and the dresses are phenomenal!  Mine is still pretty, but the new designs suit my taste even more so.  I'm just going to take the advice of everyone else and ignore any and all wedding gown images.  I'll start by unsubscribing to gown manufacturers that send me emails...
  • Yes, I did. So I bought a reception dress I love so I now have the best of both worlds!!!
