I got my dress! [PIP]

Alright so I had originally gotten a different but I ended changing my mind and going with my "dream dress" instead lol. Don't get me wrong I loved my original one too but I love my new one! Oh and if you're wondering about my hair, I have a disorder so I wear wigs lol. It didn't just grow really long in a few months haha! ;P

Now I'm actually not wearing that sash, I'm wearing a pink one. She just put this one on to get an idea because I left my sash at home. The dress is on of the ones from White by Vera Wang and it's actually soft white, the coloring of the picture obviously makes it look different. Also I was holding my bag for the dress in the first two pictures lol.

I'm a shorty (only 4'11") so I definitely need to get it shortened when I go back for the alterations appointment haha!

I am 4'11 as well and tried on that vw dress as well. Although I loved it there was no way they could make it fit properly without losing much of the detail at the bottom. That's what the DB seamstress told me herself. Be prepared to find someone not affiliated with DB because they will not do major alterations on Vera dresses. Hopefully your local person can make it work for you.

Agree with previous posters... I would call them back ASAP and ask about the hemming. I tried that dress on ... and I was only going to have to have a tiny bit taken off and the hemming was super expensive because of the detailing and layers at the bottom. Did you ask if they could order the dress in a petite?

Beautiful gown! With that dress I am going to guess they will take it up through the waist or at the very top where the flouncing begins and not the hemline itself. There should be hidden seaming somewhere. I don't see how they could do it from the hem with a bottom as intricate as that one.

Gorgeous, but yeah. Call around to other seamstresses and ask about how much they would want. David's can be over the top when it comes to alterations.
