How long did it take for your dress to come?

Our wedding date has been moved 7 months ahead (due to family situation). Now we are exactly 5 months away. I've found my dress, and if I ordered it now, it would probably come in time. My mother is going to Asia to visit family during June. I'm thinking of having my dress  custom made there. It could save me $1000 plus. I'm afraid the dress won't turn out as the dress I want since everything will be done via email and phone (pictures and measurements). I will not see the dress until July when my mom comes back. I want to ask you ladies how long it took for your dress to arrive. If I don't like the custom made dress, there will be 3 months before the day. Will 3 months be enough for the dress to arrive? Thanks

I think 3 months is pushing it, especially if you need alterations.  However, you'll just have to talk to the boutique because every one of them is different along with every designer being different.

I'd also be cautious of having your dress being made overseas...

My dress took 5 months to come in, but I ordered through a traditional salon.

I ordered my dress at the end of September and in came in at the end of November.  They always say they take longer to come in than they actually do but just be careful.  You might be able to get a rush delivery on it but of course at an extra fee.  GL!

I ordered from a traditional salon and my dress took 9 and a half months to arrive!
