J.Crew "spiced wine" with charcoal/silver? Help!

Hi Everyone!

I think I'm just making myself crazy, but would love some feedback on my color choices. I'm getting married next April and don't like traditional Spring colors, so I'm going with brighter jewel tones. Here's my palete.

plum (like the reddish purple kind)
spring green (almost lime but not really - will be used sparingly)
charcoal/silver

My bridesmaid dresses are J.Crew's "spiced wine" (like these: http://d30opm7hsgivgh.cloudfront.net/upload/81275968244795673_wcXdvniL_c.jpg)

I was planning to wear a sash similar to this (http://www.etsy.com/listing/65779191/bridal-wedding-sash-jeweled-and-beaded) with matching shoes, then figured my maids should wear silver shoes too.

Now I'm just starting to wonder if silver really goes with this shade of purple. I might be over thinking it, but is silver too "cool" with this "warmer" purple? Have I just been staring at these colors way too long?

  • The shoes that the girls in that picture are wearing are all silver and I think it looks awesome. I think you'll be fine. But walk away from it for a while, then come back to it in a month and see what you think. ;)

  • I think it will look really nice - the brighter dresses will give the spring-y feel you are looking for.  TK has a section of real-life photos that might help you visualize - you may have to page through the find the right shade and see it with silver:
