I got my gown from Priscilla of Boston and it just came in. Because they are going out of business, I can't leave my gown there past Oct. 15 - and my wedding is in May in Pensacola, FL. I live in San Francisco, and the gown is at the PofB in Atlanta. I grew up in Atlanta and travel there frequently for work. The question is: Should I have the dress shipped to San Fran and get it altered here (I only need the basics: cups put in the bust and a bustle) or leave it in Atlanta and have it altered there? My Matron of Honor lives in Atlanta and has offered to store the dress for me if I leave it in Atlanta (she is VERY trustworthy and no pets/ smoke free). I don't really want the dress is Cali bc I will have to take it back to the east coast for the wedding anyway AND I live with my future husband, and I don't want him to see the gown or know anything about it. But I know it would be safe with me. I could also have it shipped to Pensacola for my mother to keep, but we dont know any reputable alterations places there and it is much harder for me to travel there. UGH What to do??
