Wearing the veil during the ceremony?

i'm not thrilled about walking down the aisle with the veil over my face.  is this a reqirement still these days or is wearing it behind your head only an option?

Re: Wearing the veil during the ceremony?

  • You definitely don't have to wear it over your face--plenty of ladies don't. If you like the idea of wearing a blusher, but still want to be able to see, you can opt for a very sheer veil.
  • Its not a requirement.  You don' even have to wear a veil if you don't want.  I refused to wear it over my face so I'm not even bothering wearing one.  I got a really pretty beaded headband instead.

  • Plenty of people don't wear blusher veils anymore.  It's purely your preference.  I'm not wearing one.

  • Not a requirement.  But if you have a multi layered veil a really nice picture is wearing one of the layers as a blusher and kissing your new husband under it when you are having your formal pics taken!

  • Personally, I hate blusher veils and I refused to wear one.  I didn't even want to wear a veil.  When I was trying on my dress, I tried on a veil and actually really liked it.  It was just at the back of my head, no blusher over my face (PIB).
