I picked up my dress today...

and I think there might be something wrong with me. It could be because I am sick and have an ear infection but I think I'm just "eh" about it. What the heck is wrong with me!!??

I've been dreaming about this dress since we got engaged in March and it was the only one I didn't want to take off in the store. Now that I have it I'm kind of feeling "eh". Did anyone else feel that way?

I've tried it on 3 times today and don't feel like a bride, or anything for that matter. HELP!

I think a lot of brides second guess the dress after they actually have it in hand.

If you haven't "jacked it up" with shoes, veil, jewelry, and other accessories yet, give it a chance for your whole look to pull together.  My experience was that the whole was greater than the sum of the parts.

PS  That's one of my favorite quotes from Harry Potter :-)
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • Thanks! I don't know what my problem is... you're probably right though. Just need to tie it all together. Sigh.

It's one of mine too! Too bad they didn't put it in the film.

  • I felt that way too at first after I bought my dress and then obessively looked at pics of it.  But, when I went to the store to actually pick it up after the alterations I fell in love with it again.  I agree with the PP's, you probably just need to see it all together.  :)

I was disappointed with what they left out of the movies.  Especially in the fourth one.

Ok... good! Well, bad, but good that I'm not the only one.

About HP... seriously... they left out everything! But you're right, the fourth one could have been much better and the fifth film is way too angsty. The book is so funny!

  • i felt the exact same way....i wasnt as excited when i went to try it on again after it was ordered because i kept looking at pictures of other dresses and thinking....maybe i should have tried on more styles, dresses, ..did i decide too quick?? its just anxiety because there are sooo many dresses out there and you will drive yourself crazy so just stop. you loved the dress and didnt want to take it off right? you WILL feel that way again on the day of the wedding when you are all dolled up trust me. i think some people get upset after they make that huge decison of buying their dress because "that part" of the whole wedding process is now over. im sure your dress is beautiful and you will have that feeling about it again on your special day. All that matters at the end of that day is that the two of you are married......trust me, the dress, the venue, the flowers, any mishaps, just wont matter to you.....

  • For Christmas FI bought me the complete 8 disc set of HP!  We just finished watching it starting from year 3.  I kept having to pause it and explain to him what was going on beacuse he didn't read the books.

  • Lol! My FMIL is the same way. She picked up part 2 to watch and called me every five minutes asking what the heck was going on. I'm a bit of an HP nerd... the books were starting to get popular (when 2 came out, I think about 2001?) when I was 10, so I grew up with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. I spent the early teenage years (I was homeschooled, and very lonely for other kids) wishing I could go to Hogwarts to be best friends with Luna. =D

  • Lol!  I didn't get into them when I was younger, but I eventually started reading them before the 5th or 6th book came out.  I was hooked!

  • I also felt this way and got really anxious becuase of it. I left the dress alone for about a month and stopped looking at pictures of it. Now everytime I see it I want to wear it. I've fallen in love again.

  • I LOVED my dress. I still love it and, to me, it´s THE DRESS.
Truly, I feel like I was the prettiets bride in whole wide world.
Like a 5 year old feels like she´s a princess when she dresses up.

DON´T GET MARRIED WEARING AN "EH" DRESS.

Sell it on e-bay if you don´t love it.

Get married in a dress that makes you feel the most beautiful woman in the world. On your wedding day, it will show.
