What to put the groomsmen in??

The bridesmaids will be in a bright aqua (malibu from David's Bridal) and I want the guys in something casual and summery - hoping to get away without tuxes and to have them with rolled up sleeves. I feel like regular ties would be too stuffy especially if the sleeves were rolled.

I was thinking black pants and then white shirt? Or aqua shirt? Vest in black or gray/silver? Possible bowtie and suspenders? I just don't have any idea what would look good.

  • A bow tie is just as formal if not more formal than a regular tie. Rolled up sleeves? That's the most informal thing ever...yet you want a vest and bow tie? I'm just baffled by this post...

Casual & summery = khakis and a casual button down... You are basically asking for a suit minus the jacket which is anything but casual & summery.

Ok. Scatch your idea. the color combo you have would not look good at all. (black pants, white shirt, silver vest) no.

If you want casual, just choose Khaki color. it just takes the formality down a notch.

Or you might like something like this.

[QUOTE]The groom and the groomsmen should be the same level of formality as the bridal party. Your girls are wearing short cocktail style dresses from DB? Then the guys need to wear a jacket. I suggest at least a lightweight blazer jacket worn with grey pants or possibly khakis. They will look silly standing next to girls who are dressed in semi-formal dresses if the men are wearing rolled up shirtsleeves, especially with suspenders showing. Vests should never be worn without a jacket, and vests are hot, so I would skip them. Sorry, Mcda, but I think that photo is ugly!

Don't be sorry. *I* don't like this look either. I just though it fit the OP's attire description. I just hate the suspender look but I thought that was only MY personal preference since I see it on wedding websites a lot.
