Long or short dress MOG

Is it appropriate to wear a short dress if the MOB and BM are wearing long dresses?  It is an evening wedding??

Yes, it doesn't matter what the MOB and the BMs are wearing.  MOG gets to wear whatever she wants.

She should be aware that if BM and MOB are wearing long that means they may be more elegantly dressed. She should try to find something that is of similar elegance in a length she likes. My MOB and MOG are both wearing long gowns.

IMO I think an longer dress is more age appropriate for women 45+.

I think it would be fine to let her wear whatever she is comfortable in. I know my mom hates dresses and will prob. opt for a pant suit, while FI mom will prob wear a tea length dress.

Wow I totally disagree with this!!!!! If I am 45 and someone tries to tell me I can only wear long dresses, it will not be pretty for them. Let her wear what she wants. I think short is more modern, but whatever she is comfortable in.

not all dresses are created equal. some short dresses can be elegant and sophisticated. its her choice as long as her dress fits the mood of the ceremony. cause im assuming the dress is knee leangth too tea leangth. cause to me anything above that just isnt formal and you can nicely suggest if she hasnt already bought her dress that you guys go shopping together.

and maribeth, totally agree. I'm not gonna stop wearing short dresses until they stop looking good on me. or when im dead. havent decided yet. lol.
