To hair accessory or to not hair accessory...

I have a very plain gown with no embellishments. I am however, adding one oversized fabric flower to the side of the bodice. Flower clip in my hair? Feather or jeweled clip? I don't want to over do it....what's ok, what's not?

I think either of those would be okay. I'd lean toward the flower, but it's really up to you. Why don't you browse etsy and see what strikes your fancy? 

If you want to try some things on, you could go to a place like Forever 21 that has a wide variety of hair doodads so that you could get a better idea of what they'd look like and what hairstyles would pair well.

My dress sounds very similar to yours. I had a flower (real) in my hair. My florist made me three different options. I loved it.

You could always make this be a "game time" decision. Bring your options to your hair appointment and see how your potential clips/flowers look. I looked at three of my options before I decided on the ranaculous (sp?)  flower.

I did this, pretty much to the extreme--an hour before I had to be at my hair appointment on my wedding day, I bought a bunch of gerbera daisies at the grocery store, and took them with me to the appointment. I can't believe how many compliments I got on those stupid grocery store flowers!

If you have a big flwoer on your dress, I would not put on in your hair, UNLESS it is a rhinestone flower... that would be really pretty.
