Wedding dress with color - Help!

Hello ladies! I am interesting in finding a wedding dress that is white with turquoise beading or beading of some related colour. This is my second engagement and in my first one I originally bought a dress that was similar and it totally felt me! However, I can't find anything remotely similar. I gave the other dress away to Belle of the Ball so that a young girl could benefit from it for her prom. I am a color girl and something about having color in my wedding dress still appeals. If anyone can point me towards a great designer or website that would be much appreciated! I have looked up prom dresses etc and nothing white with turquoise beading...especially in a fit n flare, A line style, not a ball gown. Oh and I am getting married on Oahu on the beach, so the turquoise would be perfect and it is one of my favorite colors too. Thank you!

I think your best bet would be to find a dress you love and add a sash with that color.  That's not a popular color to mix in with a dress.  I think much more color than that takes away from it looking like a wedding dress.  Have the color more in your flowers, jewelry, etc.
  • David's Bridal has wedding dress that has colored embriodered on it & a colored trim. It comes in different options. I know it's not beading, but it might be worth to check it out. Besides doing a sash like pp suggested what about adding color through a big fun necklace?
  • Thank you ladies! I think you're right in toning down the color factor and perhaps introduce it with either a sash, jewellery and flowers. I am having stargazer lilies for my bouquet, so there is some nice dark pink right there. I am visiting David's Bridal in Dedham MA next weekend, so i will see what color options they have. Thank you!
  • I looked this up out of curiousity and absolutely fell in love with this color combo the following dresses are from Alfred Angelo's "Dream In Color" Collection they come in over 20 different colors I showed you a few shades of turquoise on the first three and the last one not pictured in color but you will see the sash that can be any color you want. Hope this helps!

  • I'm having my dress custom made by www.mybigfatbeautifulwedding.com (the seamstress is named Janet.)  She does amazingly affordable custom work.  If I had gone with the two local seamstresses I visited, the same design was going to run me about $2,500-$3,000.00.  Janet is doing this design for less than $1,000, and it includes a custom-made petticoat within that cost.  It's going to be at least 12 yards of fabric, because of a very full skirt and a long trim, and have a fitted corset-bodice with steel boning and lacing - so you see why I recommend her.  It's such a bargain! My dress is going to be a blue-grey wisteria blue color.  She could do whatever you wanted - pick the sleeve, the bodice, the train and she'll put them all together into your dream dress. If you feel tourquoise beading, trim, lace, etc. is YOU, then by all means go for it!  Good luck!
  • Thank you for taking the time to look these dresses up and posting them to me, I very much appreciate it!! They are beautiful dresses and I really love the turquoise colour in them. I am heading to David's Bridal this weekend and Alfred Angelo too so I will check them out, thank you! I love the last style as well!

  • Thank you for this suggestion! I'll check out this website. I am in Boston, so I wonder if they could still help me out from here. I have emailed a local custom designer and waiting to hear from her. She does it part time and has just started. So we'll see. But I appreciate your message and good luck with your dress...sounds lovely!!

  • How about these?

(Maybe see if a seamstress could stitch up the slit a bit... or a lot... depending what you want...)  http://www.missesdressy.com/beaded-long-prom-dress-jovani-prom-p-29520.html

(Might need a seamstress for this one too, to add fabric behind the peek-a-boos, if thats not your thing)  http://www.missesdressy.com/stylish-sweetheart-long-gown-jovani-prom-p-29478.html
