What to wear UNDER the dress?!?!

Ladies:  I'm not sure if anyone else has come across this or has thought about it, but I'm getting married in May and even though the dress isn't too heavy - I'm worried about my legs being hot and sweaty.
I"m wondering if anyone has any ideas for some kind of shorts or SOMETHING to wear under my dress.  I know there are SPANX out there - but those seems to be so tight that they are extremely uncomfortable.
I just don't want to be hot and sweaty and my legs are rubbing against each other and feeling gross.

HELP!  ANY IDEAS?!?!

Re: What to wear UNDER the dress?!?!

  • I wore spanx for this reason exactly.  I was afraid my legs would chafe being in 90 degree weather.  If you don't like spanx look into lycra biker shorts.

  • You can try getting some talcum spray and spraying that onto your legs and torso before the wedding.  Talcum spray is odorless, and it dries up sweat instantly and prevents chafing.  Also, from what I've heard, Spanx are better than the bodyliners you can buy for cheap.  You might want to spend the money for the peace of mind.

  • Yeah - I know Spanx are good - but in my experience with them, at least the shorts ones, they are so tight and practically cut off your circulation.
I just want to be as comfortable as possible.
And I can be a sweaty girl, so I want to prevent that at all costs.

Also - for the talcum spray - do you have to reapply that?  or how long does it stay working and absorbing sweat?
  • I have no idea how long it lasts -- I've just known people who use it and swear by it.

I would bring a little can with you to the reception and spray it in the bathroom as needed.  But I wouldn't think it would need to be applied more than every few hours.

  • If you're wearing Spanx that are that uncomfortable, you should probably buy a larger size. They're usually pretty comfortable. I wore the Higher Power power panties under my dress (bonus: the split gusset crotch meant no peeling it all off to use the bathroom!) and it was very comfortable.
  • Monistat makes an anti chafing gel that works really well
  • I'm concerned about this as well. I'm undecided on spanx or seamless panties. I already have capri length spanx but obviously this doesn't work for taking off the garter!
