What color shoes go with this dress?

Hi!  My BMs are going to be wearing this dress in pewter:

Can anyone suggest what color will go best?  I think I am leaning toward a strappy shoe with a 2-inch heel.  My flowers will be blush-colored.

Thank you in advance!

  • Since none of the guests will care what your BMs are wearing and buying shoes is just another added expense, I always say that the girls should just whatever black shoes they already on. Technically, they are responsible for buying their own shoes but usually now, brides are trying to not dictate shoes.

Also, you can definitely not dictate heel height. Unless all of your friends wear heels every single day. If my friend told me to wear a two inch heel, I would tell her exactly where she could go.

Black will certainly go with the dresses and your friends will be thrilled they don't have to spend more money.

[QUOTE]I agree as well. You could choose black, but I would try something with pop of color like hot pink or something that matchese your accent colors. I think it would look so fun!

<div>Ditto.  I think a bright color would be adorable with that dress.</div>

I don't understand why you are telling your BM's what to wear.  Unless you're purchasing the shoes for them, this is a huge no-no.  Guests don't care, BM's DO.  I allowed my BM's to choose which shoes worked best for them as they are all comfortable in different things.  I'd rather that the people who spend all day with me taking pictures and standing, wear what makes them happy as opposed to what makes me happy.
  • You really shouldn't dictate the style of shoe to your bridesmaids.  Not everyone can wear the same style and you certainly don't want to make your friends miserable on your wedding day.

You can ask them to wear a particular color.  I'd go with either pewter or a bright color.  Even though the flowers are blush, I would not choose that color for the shoes.  I'm just not a fan a very light colored shoes with a dark dress.
  • You could go with a neutral allowing the girls to wear something they already have or go with your accent color. Honestly though no one will really pay attention to what shoes they wore. Think about a wedding you attended do you remember the BM shoes?

    Good Luck

P.S- it gets complicated to tell the girls to get strappy heels cause everyone will think strappy means a different thing so instead of getting a uniformed look they will all look so different... It seems like a headache to me
  • I would either say silver or black but let the girls pick out their own style.  Trust me, no one will notice if they are not the same shoes or style or even if they're a shade or two off.  I let my girls choose their own and I loved all the different shoes they picked.  It showed their personalities.
