Second guessing my dress.

I'm getting married April 27 in a very small intimate ceremony. I never wanted a huge wedding dress, so this is the one I bought. I really loved it, but now I am so so sure. It goes to right above my knees which I feel is too short for a wedding dress. And I'm not sure if the pattern on it is beautiful or tacky. I think part of my problem is that I am looking at other dresses. I also considered this or a simliar one that was pink and beige but decided I wanted to look more bridal.

<div>Stop it.  Now.  You're banned from looking at wedding dresses.</div><div>
</div><div>I'm positive that the dress you loved will be perfect.  Also - you <em>really</em> don't have time to find somethinng else, especially if you'll need alterations.</div><div>
</div><div>Just think about other wedding things.  When the day comes and you put your dress on you're going to feel amazing and beautiful.</div>
  • I agree with PP. Don't look at any more dresses. You picked out the first one because you loved it then. Most likely you will still be in love with it when you get married!

I agree with PPs.  The dress is beautiful!  And I'm sure it looks even better on you.  No more looking at wedding dresses, no wedding shows, (SYTTD, My Fair Wedding, Whose Wedding is it Anyway, etc...) and no browsing online.  If you are concerned about the dress being too short for comfort reasons maybe you could make it a bit longer by adding some lace to the hem?  That should be a really simple, quick fix.

If you love the dress that is all that matters.

Posted by JohanKimmie[/QUOTE] I'm definitely going to stop looking. I do love the dress but I am over thinking it. I've been thinking about adding something to make it longer. I have a petticoat to wear under it that us going to make it even shorter probably. I do all my alterations myself, so that isn't a problem.

  • Well, I would not be the person to ask. I just bought a new dress. haha! I bought my original one 2 years ago, and just never fell in love with it. It doesn't fit that well, either.

I think you should feel beautiful. Only consider your own opinion of yourself in the dress, and if you like how you feel and look, don't worry about it. If you can't enjoy the thought of getting married in the dress, shop around.

Unlike men, there's no shame in checking out new dresses. :)

My mom bought me one a year ago, I never truly loved it, she did. She never had a wedding dress so she imposed her style on me. I've started making alterations to the dress I have now and I'm falling in love with it again. I'm taking out the hem since that will make it 3 inches longer and adding some volume to the skirt.
